"MACAS" Mateo Caycedo

Mi trabajo artístico esta centrado en la exploración de la gráfica contemporánea y medios de expresión publica, el grabado con sus variadas técnicas tales como; xilografía, linógrafia, estencil, etc. Que sirven como matriz para sacar múltiples impresiones, con las que se intervienen espacios públicos y privados de las ciudades,  para mostrar y exhibir demandas sociales del contexto. El acto panfletario como medio de exhibición, encuentro e interacción entre espectador y obra.

Dentro de la producción de taller, el objeto como obra esta presente, la apropiación de  "objetos encontrados" y la creación de estos, bajo la premisa de construir un discurso humano que muestre un deficit social en  imaginarios colectivos ,  tratando temas centrados en la violencia,  la transgresión de la condición humana, y diversas problemáticas Colombianas y latinoamericanas.

El performance y el happening se han constituido en una expresión satírica, donde la acción de mostrar lo oculto a los ojos de los espectadores. El hacer visible el acto de "montar la obra a escondidas" y la "subversión panfletaria"  volviendo el acto marginal en un acto completamente público.

My artistic work is centered in the exploration of the contemporary graphic and means of public expression, the engraving and printmaking with its varied techniques such as; Woodcut, lynch, stencil, etc. They serve as a matrix to make multiple prints, with which public and private spaces in cities are involved, to show and exhibit social demands of the context. The pamphleteer act as a means of exhibition, meeting and interaction between viewer and work.

In the workshop production, the object as a art work is present, the appropriation of "found objects" and also the creation of these, under the premise of constructing a human discourse that shows a social deficit in collective imaginaries, dealing with themes centered on violence , The transgression of the human condition, and various Colombian and Latin American problems.

​

The performance and the happening have become a satirical expression, where the action of showing the hidden in the eyes of the spectators. Making visible the act of "mounting the work in secret" and "pamphlet subversion" by turning the marginal act into a completely public act.
